Job Description

Job Summary:
Subsea Control System Engineers are responsible for the design and installation of operating systems, application software, hardware and system management tools required for the operation of wellhead and subsea equipment.  This includes managing the integrity of controls, maintenance, planning upgrades, and the installation of new controls elements.

Typical duties:

  • Develops and maintains Subsea Control System requirements including policies, procedures, specifications and practices
  • Undertakes responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support, design calculations, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third party submissions
  • Manages contracts with Subsea Control vendors and specialists
  • Develops and manages inspection, testing and maintenance programmes in order to complete integrity assessments
  • Assesses the effect of any process or equipment changes on system integrity, and makes recommendations to ensure the ongoing integrity of Subsea Control Systems
  • Ensures competency of personnel to perform subsea control system inspection, maintenance and testing activities
  • Reviews and accepts vendor procedures and work packs and final reports
  • Produces budgets and plans for specific studies or modifications and manages the cost control and reporting process
  • Prepares regular progress reports
  • Reports any breaches of safety procedures to supervision / management
  • Actively participates in and promotes company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times
