Major manufacturing company is looking for a construction project manager to successfully manage traction & hydraulic elevator projects in a very active new construction market.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be in charge of:

  • Coordinating all contract activities from the project award stage to completion of the elevator and escalator installation.
  • The successful candidate will provide a progress review of projects to ensure that contract documents are consistent with the required scope of the project.
  • Candidate will communicate directly with multiple representatives of the general contractors, owners, architects and designers, State and Local authorities and regulatory agencies concerning project design, preparations, and scheduling of installation for the equipment.
  • Candidate will also work closely with the internal sales staff, construction superintendents and senior leadership to ensure a successful project from both the financial and customer perspectives.
  • This position will require the candidate to periodically work on a job site.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day management of new equipment projects and establishing performance and delivery criteria.
  • The candidate will manage and resolve disputes and should be skilled to identify issues early and be adept at problem solving.
  • The candidate should be versed in contract writing and administration, and will perform customary construction process duties that include managing billing, consultant and contractors’ payments, processing RFIs and optimizing change order opportunities, as well as maximizing project cash coverage.

Qualifications

Successful candidate must have elevator or related industry project management experience

  • Experience implementing elevator systems in hi-rises
  • Requires knowledge of the principals of cost estimating, scheduling and contract administration
  • Ability to accurately interpret construction contractual documents and contract modifications to determine cost of such change
  • Accurately analyze situations and assist in developing contingencies for estimates.
  • Must possess proficient oral and written communication and presentation skills and be able to communicate effectively with wide variety of people with diverse background of all levels and disciplines.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers clients and others in contact with the job.
