Overall Position Description

The responsibilities of this position will encompass all quality assurance and manufacturing activities and quality personnel associated with Light Rail Vehicle commissioning and warranty activities performed at the customer site in Los Angeles California.  This position will report to the Project Quality Assurance Manager.

The Commissioning and Warranty Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Working with the QA manager to establish the site infrastructure system and requirements for the project
  • All aspects of LRV commissioning tests and warranty repairs and rework
  • Interfacing with the site customer on a daily basis
  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with the customer and staff
  • Scheduling personnel to support tests and to perform rework/repair of all LRV’s
  • Providing a well-trained and managed staff that follows all site safety requirements
  • Coordinating the troubleshooting and repair of all LRV anomalies and deficiencies
  • Supporting Vendor testing, troubleshooting and documentation
  • Coordinating with the engineering department on recommended changes, and if necessary, coordinating the implementation of the change
  • Coordinating the need for electrician and mechanical personnel support with the factory manufacturing department when needed
  • Overseeing the ordering and management of spare parts and equipment
  • Providing progress and activity reports to management on a daily basis
  • Tracking and trending deficiencies, discrepancies and corrective actions

Essential Functions of the Job

To provide a courteous professional well trained staff to support the commissioning tests and warranty program.  To start and complete all phases of Commissioning tests of all LRV’s for the project.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The Quality Assurance Commissioning & Warranty Supervisor will possess the supervisory skills, knowledge and experience to effectively manage all aspects of the site operations.   The successful candidate will also be experienced with quality assurance, electrical and mechanical testing and assembly processes.  Previous rail industry experience is desired.

 

Physical Requirements

The Quality Assurance Commissioning & Warranty Supervisor will be able to lift up to 30 lbs. and be able to climb in and on top of LRVs.

Work Environment

The work environment is both indoor and outdoor.  Day and night shift are required to be supported.  Long hours can be expected periodically.  A positive professional attitude must be displayed at all times.

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 / year
