The Cloud System Engineer will be an integral member of JLGOV’s Transition and Professional services team acting as a Virtualization SME assisting customer and DoD Mission Partners in migrating and re-hosting applications to the new FedRAMP Cloud environment.

  • Provides professional services support for customers migrating to new FedRAMP Cloud with subject matter expertise (SME) in virtualization technologies, such as KVM and Hyper-V.
  • Collaborates across internal teams and works with customers to assess and evaluate virtualization configurations, best practices, and recommended technical approaches.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and configure migrated VM’s
  • Proficiency in implementing and sustaining KVM-based VM’s on large-scale deployments
  • Evaluates application workloads migrated to ensure performance and system requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Must have an Active Secret DoD Clearance
  • Must have a minimum 3 years of AMS migration experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with engineering and administration in virtualized environments
  • Experience designing and engineering commercial Cloud environments, architectures, and designs
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and US government Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
  • Knowledge of US government enterprise infrastructure, US government security standards, DevOps and Agile methodologies, and IT Service Management principles
  • Expert knowledge in virtualization technologies (i.e. KVM, Hyper-V)
  • Hands-on proficiency in VM installation and configuration for large-scale cloud environments
  • Experience with best practices associated with migrating and configuring VM’s across geographically distributed cloud-based architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of security standards such as FedRAMP, FISMA and SRG

Must Have Certifications and Degree:

  • IAT Level II (Security+) or Higher Certification
  • Amazon System Operations or Amazon Developer Certification would be a Plus (+)
  • BA or BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
