Job Description

***This job is a Direct Hire to our customer located in San Marcos, TX***

This position has the responsibility to aid in the design, building, repair and modification of injection molds, fixtures, etc. to specifications for internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Aid in the preventative and routine maintenance of customer owned tooling and molds.
  • Responsible team member in the design, building, maintenance and repair of injection molds.
  • Design and build secondary fixtures.
  • Utilization of mold shop equipment including lathes, grinders, mills, etc.
  • Overall housekeeping of tooling department.
  • Help to meet or exceed all established goals and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL:

  • Frequent long periods of walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending and stooping.
  • Lifting and carrying average to heavy weight (2-50 lbs) materials or objects
  • Occasional pushing and pulling of materials or objects.
  • Hand/finger dexterity and coordination.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, Technical degree or certification preferred
  • Excellent mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Journeyman mold maker with a minimum of 5 years mold making experience.
  • Ability to utilize most tool room equipment including, lathes, mills, edms, grinders, etc.
  • Ability to program and/or utilize CNC equipment a plus.
  • Ability to utilize skills in holding of tight tolerance specifications.
  • Ability to interpret part drawings.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Must have own tools for job.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
