JK2 Scenic is a full service theming contractor providing unique projects in the retail, theme park, entertainment, hospitality, and restaurant industries.

Position Overview:

The CNC Draftsman is responsible for the production of CNC and CAD files required for architectural millwork and custom fabrication projects.  This position requires a background in millwork and the ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.  Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation is required to properly and accurately design products for fabrication and shop assembly.  The CNC Draftsman will work closely with the Draftsman Manager and Production Manager to solve fabrication issues and ensure that the quality of the drawings and product designs meet company standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Prepare AlphaCAM files for CNC Machine.  

·         Produce architectural shop drawings for millwork and custom fabrication projects.  (AutoCAD)

·         Work with PM to document field measurements of site conditions and compare to architectural drawings/shop drawings (catch any coordination items prior to field install)

·         Fully involved in the lifecycle of project

·         Help identify potential quality, material savings, and design cost issues

·         Ability to multi-task, keeping track of multiple project responsibilities, priorities and deadlines at the same time

·         Develop the basic knowledge and understanding of different product types, materials, surfaces, finishes, etc. (i.e. wood, metal, plastics, fiberglass), used to fabricate themed products

·         Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings, in order to coordinate project needs and conflicts requiring resolution to fulfill design

·         Ability to work well with other team members, establishing and maintaining a positive and cooperative work environment

·         Willingness to learn new scenic trades and skills to help, when needed

REQUIRED:

Education:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree

Work Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years of AutoCAD drafting experience.  Strong architectural millwork knowledge and blue print reading.   1-3 years CNC Programming experience with AlphaCAM software experience as a major plus.

Qualifications/skills:

Self-starter and forward thinking individual with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.  Excellent experience in drafting, AutoCAD, and blueprint reading.  Proficient in Microsoft office software (word, excel, Outlook) and windows applications.  Experience in Millwork/Cabinetmaking & 3D Rendering/Modeling is an advantage.

The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of external professionals and in-house staff.  Must be organized and able to manage schedules and assigned tasks.

Clean driving record with a valid license.  Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.  Pass a criminal background check.

Special Hours Requirements:

May need to work overtime, nights and weekends as required.  JK2 Management has the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at its discretion.
