Job Description

Summary

Lead, manage, develop, and expand corporate giving programs that build and strengthen links to potential and existing volunteers and donors and increase the Chapter’s revenue. Work in conjunction with the Executive Director, resource team and senior volunteer leadership to increase the revenue of fundraising activities.  Ensure that the fundraising and non-fundraising priorities of JDRF grow through increased corporate involvement.  Organize and manage appropriate committees with volunteers to expand fundraising and non-fundraising programs.  Drive revenue to existing event programs like Walk, Ride, Gala, Outreach as well as programmatic support for chapter.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of JDRF.  Understand and serve as a key leader in implementing the strategic direction and purpose of the Chapter.
  • Represent the best interests, professionalism, and integrity of JDRF in all activities and relationships through a unified message of the JDRF mission and a commitment to organizational standards and leadership by personal example.
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals for key chapter event sponsorships. Create sponsorship levels for chapter wide events.  Develop a tracking system for corporate relationships including in presentations, financials, timelines, ROI reports, etc.
  • Work with national corporate team to align national partnership with work at the chapter level.  Communication with marketing team on deliverables for sponsorship.  Develop marketing materials for corporate presentations, sponsorships, and visibility.
  • Work with chapter team to deliver marketing value for sponsorships.
  • Develop new corporate relationships through prospecting and cultivation. Develop a key target list of corporate prospects. Develop a tactical plan with timelines to cultivate, ask and steward donors.
  • Formulate, implement, and lead strategies and tactics for fundraising through chapter individual giving, Ride, and Marathon programs and development activities to sustain continued growth, maximum penetration of core market areas and opportunities for expansion where appropriate.
  • Recruit, manage, and continually develop the chapter corporate development committee providing leadership, cultivation, acknowledgement, material support, and assistance in building and implementing committee annual plans. 
  • Assume lead role in developing the committee structure, volunteer relationships and the placement of volunteers in leadership roles. Communicate and set expectations clearly and appropriately.   
  • Facilitate cross-team account management and develop comprehensive recruitment, retention, and stewardship plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience including 3 years of relevant fundraising or business development/sales, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.  Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Team player who has the ability to interface with corporate executives, as well as all levels of staff and volunteers.  Must develop, maintain, and utilize relationships.  Capability to leverage relationships and negotiate agreements.  Familiarity with volunteer/staff partnerships.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.  Demonstrate competency when handling diversified assignments.
  • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills.  Ability for presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively.
  • Superior active listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills.  Exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative.  Well-disciplined and a self-starter who is extremely resourceful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and CRM databases (Salesforce preferred).
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel locally required. Occasional overnight travel as needed.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.
