Job Description

The Program Administrator will need to be in New York City office 2-3 days per week.

BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

The Program Administrator is a member of the Research team supporting grant management and operations. The Program Administrator will play a critical role in the funding, execution, and reporting of JDRF’s research grants and will work closely with internal technical leads and external researchers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the allocated fiscal year budgets of the JDRF program(s) through accurate tracking and reporting, to ensure fiscal year budgets are met.

Manage and track Requests for Applications (RFAs), and individual grant opportunities for JDRF program(s)

Manage all administrative responsibilities of grants prior to and following funding.

Be the voice of Research Operations in all program activities by fully representing administrative considerations during Program and Department meetings

Ensure all Program awards are managed in accordance with approved policies and procedures for audit compliance. Help problem-solve and recommend course corrections as necessary.

Identify grant management system issues and/or areas of improvement and work with internal and external system administration staff to problem solve

Act as a primary point of contact and representative with the research community for JDRF awards. Foster trust and transparency between JDRF and Grantees through clear, consistent communications and expectations.

Escalate project-level delays or anomalies to supervisor and strictly follow process workflows to ensure timely resolution and progression of JDRF-funded projects.

Work collaboratively with Marketing and Communications and/or Fundraising  teams to provide periodic program reports to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-4 years of grant management experience
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work in collaboration with other functions, resolve conflicts and challenges
