Job Description

Summary

The Development Manager role is an opportunity to join a strong Chapter team reporting to the Associate Executive Director and working closely with local leadership, regional and national teams, and an outstanding group of volunteers to increase the reach and impact of the Chapter. The Development Manager serves as an integral member of the team, ensuring an integrated approach to supporter growth and support within and outside of our event activities. Emphasizing retention, cultivation, and stewardship, with attention to new individual (especially mid-level donors), family, foundation and corporate supporter acquisition, the Development Manager will have significant impact on the effectiveness of supporter engagement and Chapter outcomes. He or she also organizes and executes select components that support the donor giving cycle, from qualification to stewardship.

While staff are currently working remotely, the expectation is that staff will return to the office with a flexible work schedule when it is safe to do so.

Responsibilities

  •  In partnership with the Associate Executive Director and Signature Events team, supports event planning and execution of the Chapter’s Signature Events (Gala, Real Estate Games, YLC One Party, Rock the Cure, and others).
  • Identifies, builds, and empowers key event leadership including committee members, supporters, board members, civic and corporate leaders.
  • Leads and supports the identification and moves management (qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) of revenue opportunities primarily in Signature Events.
  • Actively manages a portfolio of leads/prospects, mid-level donors, and fundraisers in the Signature Events programs.
  • Strategically and consistently utilizes CRM data management tool to maximize efficient and effective moves management of donor pipeline. Utilizes event planning and management software platforms.
  • Assists with other event planning and execution for the Chapter as needed.
  • Ensures personal accountability for meeting deadlines and responding to volunteers and other department requests.
  • Collaborates with local staff as well as national/regional staff resources to ensure the Chapter’s growth and success.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of special event fundraising experience or relevant business/volunteer experience.
  • Knowledge of non-event fundraising activities (major gifts, stewardship, etc.) preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter while also being collaborative and an amazing team player.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and strong CRM database knowledge, Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally. Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.
