Job Description

The Donation Processing Specialist is an active member of JDRF’s donation processing customer service team within our Finance team located in our New York office. Primary responsibilities include working closely with our centralized donation processing support center that provides the caging and service bundle solutions ensuring donations are properly accounted for and recorded accurately.  The position also works closely with our chapter and national teams on donation processes including adjustments, refunds and various customer service support functions to ensure donor giving experience is to its utmost satisfaction. The Donation Processing Specialist is also responsible for general accounting processes (cash receipts, banking, accounts receivable, journal entry and supporting month-end closing). 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process donations in a timely and accurate manner  
  • Ensure accuracy and timely recognition of donations
  • Prepare cash receipts and entries in Salesforce and provide information for the daily Cash Position Report
  • Provide support on donation related issues to internal teams
  • Execute various monthly bank reconciliation, including online donations reconciliations (Credit Card, PayPal, ACH)
  • Perform various reconciliations related to cash and receivable accounts
  • Preparation of accounts receivable journal entries including assisting in timely month end close
  • Contribute recommendations in process improvements
  • Assist with implementing and adherence to internal financial processes and procedures
  • Perform special projects and Ad-hoc analysis
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with direct experience in high volume donation environment and working relationship
  • Strong donor processing related experience with high level Excel Knowledge (look ups and pivot table)
  • Experienced in using different systems and platforms -i.e. Outlook, Salesforce and ERP (Oracle, MSD 365)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365, a plus
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels
  • A team player with customer service focus 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously


EDUCATION:  

Bachelor’s degree preferred
