The Northern New England Chapter plays a vital role in JDRF’s success, with annual revenues of around 1M. Covering the States of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, the Chapter has a newly formed strong Board of Directors as well as volunteers who are actively engaged and passionate supports of JDRF.

This is a remote position. Candidates can be located in either New Hampshire or Vermont and must be able to travel frequently between the two states.

Job Description

The Development Coordinator role is an opportunity to join a strong Chapter team and work closely with the Executive Director and local leadership, regional teams and an outstanding group of volunteers to increase the reach and impact of the Chapter. 

This position is responsible for expanding relationships with key stakeholders who are already engaged with JDRF or could be, and fundraising.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Position Deliverables

  • In partnership with fellow staff and key volunteer leadership, develop and implement relevant  programming in the States of New Hampshire and Vermont. 
  • Be the face of JDRF in areas served, including networking for the purpose of developing new relationships that assist the organization.
  • Work with the local T1D community and fellow staff to build and execute top notch events that raise both dollars for the mission and build continued awareness for the disease.
  • Work with chapter Executive Director and others as appropriate to identify, recruit and develop volunteers for leadership and support roles in implementing JDRF programs.
  • Follow a stewardship model that ensures donors feel appreciated and thanked for their contributions to the organization.
  • Interface with the office team to ensure that work is recorded appropriately and accurately within the scope of the job.
  • Build and manage budgets that include the successful growth of the annual One Walk, Gala responsibility and related budget items. Coordinate and execute logistics pertaining to the Burlington and Manchester One Walk programs.
  • All other duties as may be assigned from time to time to accomplish key chapter priorities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of fundraising experience or relevant business/volunteer experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Proficiency with computer programs is required.
  • Familiarity with processing gifts. 
  • Must have a general understanding of fundraising and organizing community initiatives.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures.
  • Experience with computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Effectively able to multi-task, establish priorities and work in a fast paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure. 
  • Ability to travel locally required throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Occasional overnight travel as needed.
  • Evening and weekend work required as needed. 
  • Must be a self-starter while also being collaborative and an amazing team player!
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience required.
