JDRF’s Illinois chapter, based in Chicago, plays a vital role in JDRF’s success. With revenues of 14M in FY2019, the Illinois Chapter is one of the largest of JDRF’s chapters around the country. Job Description

This is a part-time position. Approximetly 20-25 hours/week.

Join a team of six peer to peer managers to support the Illinois P2P Programs. Programs include seven JDRF One Walks, Ride to Cure Diabetes, Team JDRF endurance Program, School & Youth Fundraising programs and JDRF Your Way (DIY Fundraising). The Development Coordinator is responsible for managing all logistical and administrative tasks for the P2P Team to help contribute to the overall $5.4 million total P2P program goal.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and implement logistics for all chapter Walks, Rides, Team JDRF events, and other special events as assigned.  This includes, but is not limited to, negotiating and contracting event vendors, site permits, supply inventory management and sourcing and ordering promotional items.
  • Manage the development and distribution of marketing materials, including the design or updating of templates.
  • Provide administrative support to P2P team as it relates to fundraising support.
  • Develop timelines and systems to effectively manage tasks for all P2P programs.
  • Work closely with P2P team to assist in the execution of sponsorship benefits for corporate partners.
  • Communicate effectively to the P2P team in order to ensure proper flow of information regarding all event logistics.
  • Support reporting and data management needs.
  • Partner with the chapter Operations team and P2P Director to review expenses and manage the P2P expense budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • College graduate preferred.  One (1-3) years of office experience required.  
  • Experience in handling the logistics of special events.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher)
  • Experience using databases and online software programs, ideally Luminate Online.
  • Ability to learn new computer software programs.
  • Design experience preferred.
  • Development and preparation of presentations.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi task.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to work some nights and weekends to support all Peer to Peer Programs
