This is a part-time temporary role requiring up to 25 hours per week from August-November 2019.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Support and maintain the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of JDRF. Understand the strategic direction and purpose of the organization and support the Chapter’s fundraising strategies and business needs.
  • Data entry, filing, and certificate creation.
  • Generate tax letters and invoices for sponsors/tickets/tables.
  • Financial data entry (payments, deposits, etc).
  • Follow up calls to donors, volunteers, sponsors.
  • Guest data entry.
  • National Vendor management and local vendor payment.
  • Respond to and follow through on inquiries, needs, complaints and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner. Accountable for
    meeting deadlines, responding to volunteers, Executive Director and other department requests.
  • Maintain a good understanding of JDRF’s mission and research cure therapeutics.

Qualifications

  • Relevant administrative, secretarial and/or business experience required. Nonprofit experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (fundraising software helpful).
  • Ability to learn new computer software programs.
  • Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Must be a self-starter while also being collaborative and an amazing team player!
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, as well as ability to develop presentations, reports, and business correspondence, manage files and records.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Active listening, analytical, and problem solving skills.
