Job Description

Junior-level development position.  May supervise volunteers for assigned responsibilities.  Plays active and instrumental role in organizing, coordinating, implementing and helping to expand assigned activities within outreach and volunteer engagement areas of the chapter.

Detailed Description        
•    Provide outreach support for all chapter outreach and volunteer activities, linking functions to engage those with a T1D connection, volunteers and community at large in JDRF.
•    Partner with Director of Community Engagement to successfully implement JDRF’s TypeOneNation education summit, outreach resource distribution and reporting and outreach program activities. 
•    Support outreach program meetings, agendas, and activities.
•    Prepare presentations, materials, and reports.
•    Interface and serve as a liaison for all levels of Outreach staff and volunteers.
•    Manage and maintain accurate and complete financial records for each event.
•    Ensure that the logistics and timelines are met for each applicable activity.
•    Respond to and follow through with inquiries, needs, complaints and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
•    Assist in evaluation Chapter activities on a regular basis and seek ways to improve Chapter performance and fundraising success.
•    Maintain a basic understanding of JDRF’s mission and research cure therapies.
•    Participate in accurate recording of information in all JDRF approved databases, following JDRF standard operating procedures.
•    Ensure the confidentiality and security of proprietary information.
•    Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor and senior management.
 

Qualifications

•    College degree preferred or equivalent experience required.  
•    Three or more (3+) years of office experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
•    Prior fundraising experience preferred.  
•    Experience in the development and presentation of programs and services.
•    Knowledge of administrative procedures, such as coordination of people and resources, planning, and resource allocation. 
•    Experience with computer systems and databases.  Proficient in Microsoft Office.
•    Effectively multi-task, establishes priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
•    Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
•    Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Develop and maintain appropriate and professional relationships.
•    Excellent written, oral and communication skills.
•    Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative. Well-disciplined and a self-starter that is extremely resourceful.
•    Active listening, analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.
