Job Description

The Development Coordinator role is an opportunity to join a strong Chapter team and lead volunteers to increase the reach and impact of the Chapter. 

The Development Coordinator will provide support in the organization, coordination, and implementation of the Chapter’s programs and development activities. There will be a focus on community outreach and engagement that builds and strengthens links to potential and existing volunteers and donors that will grow the Chapter’s revenue through individual, volunteer, corporate and other community involvement. This position will also provide logistical support for the Los Angeles One Walk as well as assist in data mining to help with the Chapter’s pipeline development activities. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Implement the core functions and activities of the LA Chapter’s current asset building and income support programs for Walk, Outreach and Individual Giving
  • Assist with the development and implementation of outreach plans for a variety and diverse group of volunteers
  • Provide general Chapter support as needed
  • Support social media channels using Marketo, Twitter and Facebook as well as contributing to the newsletters, media/new media outreach and website content
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging around all programs
  • Assist Senior Development Manager, Community Engagement with scheduling and preparation for research updates, parent/caregiver coffees, Type One Nation Summits, and T1D Connections training and implementation
  • Assist with data entry in Luminate Online for One Walk
  • Assist Development Director with logistics for One Walk
  • Collect, maintain, and prepare written reports about outreach activities and progress towards assigned goals
  • Assist Development Manager/Senior Manager with donor research and data analysis for pipeline development
  • Support Account Management and Donor Development activities through the use of the Salesforce CRM database,  
  • Potentially partner with with other Chapter, Regional & National staff in donor development support Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years work experience, ideally with related experience in nonprofit data, event and project support 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels and to partner and work in teams, within a diverse environment
  • Must be able to exercise initiative, independent good judgment, flexibility, discretion, and solid decision making
  • Should possess strong interpersonal skills, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to persuade small and large groups alike. Strong comfort with public speaking and ability to deliver presentations in group settings.
  • Must be able to prioritize work, meet specific deadlines, and make appropriate adjustments to changing circumstances as necessary
  • Positive problem solver with ability to hit the ground running
  • Must thrive under pressure and be able to accept constructive feedback
  • Willing to work flexible hours as needed to support department priorities and events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential;
  • Strong familiarity with Blackbaud/Luminate Online and Salesforce preferred
