Job Description

This position will serve as the Marketing and Communications account manager for the Signature Events team at JDRF Illinois supporting the marketing efforts, communications, and events management of key chapter events. The position works closely with both the Director of Corporate Fundraising & Marketing Partnerships and Coordinator. This person develops promotional strategies, materials, scripts, timelines, and serves as the liaison to Gala Marketing Chairs and key vendors. The position will also support the Real Estate Games, Type One Nation, and other events as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Signature Events Team in the following activities:

·         Create collateral materials, scripts, presentations and materials supporting Signature Events.

  • Define strategies, project plans, campaigns and timelines for new and existing communication.
  • Identify stewardship opportunities to continually expand, improve and retain key relationships.

Serve as the Marketing and Communications manager and:

  • Define project scope and prepare project briefs that clearly outline campaign deliverables, timelines and execution efforts.
  • Ensure that chapter events, promotions and programs are consistently on-brand, developed with relevant content, and drive toward audience engagement and fundraising goals.
  • Lead the development of marketing and communications ROI reports for corporate sponsors and marketing partners.
  • Collaborate with the Marcom team and National Signature Events team to identify promising opportunities for enhanced messaging.
  • Report to Senior Director of Signature Events.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in nonprofit marketing, event script writing, promotions, and communications management.
  • Superior organization and project management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle many responsibilities and projects at once, to deadlines and budgets
  • Understanding of how marketing and communications platforms and tools can enhance the effectiveness and increase the reach of our signature events.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to clearly communicate project timelines and expectations to partners.
  • Demonstrated strong contribution as a member of cross functional teams
  • Strong problem solving skills with clear ability to use data &analytics to inform decisions
  • Flexible and adaptable, with excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience writing content, compelling fundraising letters, on stage scripts and making presentations
