Job Description

We’re looking for a talented marketing and communications strategist who can support in the creation and execution of events and campaigns that drive awareness of type 1 diabetes, empower the T1D community and get people to take action with JDRF. A successful candidate will join a team of strategists, problem solvers and thought-leaders who work collaboratively with various Marcom disciplines to deliver strategies, assets and support for JDRF’s national fundraising and mission initiatives and chapter events.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the national mission and fundraising teams to create JDRF event day experiences that are engaging and inspiring for the type 1 diabetes community
  • Serve as a key liaison on the Marcom team for JDRF chapter staff and volunteers, providing marketing and communications expertise
  • Evaluate and refine assets provided to chapters, always with an eye on increasing efficacy and effectiveness
  • Ensure that events, promotions and programs are consistently on-brand, developed with relevant content, and drive toward audience engagement and fundraising goals

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience at a non-profit providing hands on support in event execution, fundraising strategies and donor cultivation
  • Understanding of how marketing and communications platforms and tools can enhance the effectiveness and increase the reach of campaigns and events
  • Exceptional customer service with a track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization
  • Proactive with the ability to move teams forward by offering solutions and driving results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to create thorough project briefs that clearly outline strategy, deliverables, timelines, execution efforts and expectations to stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving skills with clear ability to use data & analytics to inform decisions
  • Flexible and adaptable, with excellent teamwork skills
