Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the Concierge department and the first person of contact for guest requests. Assist guests in planning their holiday itinerary in the city or surrounding areas through knowledge and prompt attention. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Make reservations for restaurants, spa treatments and other activities outside the hotels.

Develop relationships with guests in order to facilitate the fulfilment of their requests.

Handle guest transport requests for Airport pick up, drop offs and other itineraries

Ensure punctual and courteous service of the shuttle bus for hotel guests.

Handle guest enquiries on flight amendments and online check-in.

Assist guests with restaurant reservations within the hotel and ensure a copy of the confirmation slip is forwarded to the Food and Beverage office.

Inspire others to excel by clearly communicating department goals and priorities, recognise good performance and support employees when required. 

Knowledgeable on local area and assists guests with arrangements, directions and information.

Coordinate the porter and bell desk to maintain flow of traffic at the main entrance; arrange Valet parkers to ensure a smooth operation in high business demands.

Maintain smooth transition of group check-in and check-out.

Handle Marhaba service requests.

Monitor the Bellboy movement control sheet

Monitor the inventory of the department.

Monitor the flow of rentable DVD and PlayStation and ensure all guest service checks are forwarded to the Reception for applicable room account postings.

Monitor and assist guests on the guest transportation bookings, especially promote the hotel transportation to maximize transportation revenue.

Contributes to the hotel’s overall financial budget by promoting in-house facilities and generating revenue through agreements with other hotels and companies.

Handle the sales of tickets for the Big Bus, Aquaventure and Lost Chambers and other suppliers in the future.

Ensures all guest transfer and Marhaba charges are posted to the room account accordingly

Control stocks and selling of postcards and stamps.

Maintain a cash float for stamps.

Qualifications

Affiliated to Les Clefs d’Or 

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent – preferably in hospitality management. 

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the same role and capacity in similar size properties
