Job Description

To start with, the position of Industrial Design Intern sits comfortably R&D Industrial Design department. An incredible diverse team that helps each other learn, grow and develop. Just how we like it! And as a Industrial Design Intern  you will be working for our retail and professional portfolio on the conceptualization of brewers, packaging and consumables to achieve the best consumer experience for our coffee lovers. You will have the opportunity to work on global design projects and to leave your mark on multiple enterprise programs. For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Qualifications

We are looking for a pioneer with a drive for excellence. Someone that holds themselves accountable and doesn’t shy away from responsibility. Given the nature of the role we feel it’s important for you to have a willingness to learn as well as a solid understanding of your own added value. We thrive in diverse teams and look for people that appreciate that as much as we do. We can give you a list of “must haves”, however that’s not how we view your candidacyBut to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role, we’ll share our “nice to have” list with you: 

  • Pursuing an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Industrial Design. 

  • Digital proficiency in the use of tools such as SolidWorks, Keyshot and Adobe Creative Suite. 

  • Good level of sketching skills to communicate ideas and show design intentions. 

  • A diverse portfolio showing the way of thinking and design skills. 

  • A passion for design and exploring new opportunities. 

  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated. 

Important: To be considered as a candidate for this internship,  

  • EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled in a Dutch University for the whole duration of the internship and the internship needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum (eg, receive university credits/ECTS for the internship).  

  • Non-EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled in a Dutch University for the whole duration of the internship, the internship needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum (eg, receive university credits/ECTS for the internship), and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement.

  Internship Allowance  

  • Based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek, the monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, additionally, you will get paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.   

  • Monthly Commuting allowance: at JDE we offer a monthly commuting allowance for travelling to the office.  

  • We offer a mileage allowance each day you come to the office (0,21 EUR per KM with a max of 50 KM single trip).  

  • If you regularly travel to the office by public transport and the mileage allowance is not sufficient because of the relatively expensive single tickets, you can get compensated for your public transport tickets. There is no maximum amount but we kindly ask to choose for the cheapest way of travelling. 

  • Should you need to relocate to the city of your based office (Amsterdam or Utrecht), you will receive a monthly relocation compensation of up to a maximum of € 175. In this case, the commuting allowance will be not applicable. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
