Job Description

Are you a student looking for an internship starting at the beginning of March 2022? In your role as New Product Development R&D Intern you will be given full responsibility and accountability for projects from the beginning of your placement and you’ll have an opportunity to fully integrate and actually make a difference. We offer internships in several of our New Product Development category teams including: Single Serve, Instant Mixes and Pure Instant. 

For the period starting in March 2022 we are recruiting for the following Product Development - Category teams: 

  • We are recruiting for positions in the three following product development teams: 1. Single serve (Tassimo & Senseo), 2. Instant Mixes, 3. Pure Instant,  
  • If you are successful in any of these three positions you will work on your own research project related to recipe development in dairy and/or black coffee, improving brewing or product quality and innovating for our diverse product portfolio.  In addition, you will be supporting the activities of the team (organizing tastings and analyzing the results, recipe development, shelf-life analysis of some products…). 

You will be able to independently plan and execute experiments related to your project areas, as well as produce technical reports/presentations and periodically communicate key findings to stakeholders. You will be a part of one of the teams within R&D, but also have the opportunity to interact with your peers in other departments within and outside of R&D. In addition, at busy times, you may be expected to support other ongoing project activities outside of your immediate team and, for some disciplines, occasional international travel may be required. 

Qualifications

This role is for Master & Bachelor students looking for a 6 months internship at our Utrecht Research and Development Center. 

Preferable degrees include: Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or Chemistry.  

You are highly motivated, an excellent communicator, fluent in English, inquisitive, analytical and prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic international environment.

To be successful in this role you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship and this needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum. Please note that if you are a non-EU citizen you need to be enrolled at a Dutch University to be considered as a candidate. 

The monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek. We also provide additional support if daily travelling to work is required. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad. The internship starts at the beginning of March 2022, and is for a period of 6 months. 

Timeline and dates to be aware of:   

  • 05 December 2021 - Vacancy will close 
  • 06 December 2021 – If positive outcome, you will receive an online SHL assessment  
  • 08 December 2021 – end of day due date online assessment 
  • 13 & 14 December 2021- If Positive, you will receive an invitation for the video interviews  
  • 16 December 2021 – Video interviews with hiring managers 
  • 20 & 21 December 2021 – you will receive final outcome and if positive an offer from us 
  • January-February 2022: Contract stage   
  • Beginning of March: Start of internship
