If you are, then keep reading! We pride ourselves on being able to offer interns a challenging experience in our daily work.

In your role as Sustainability Reporting Intern, you will work together with the Sustainability team who are responsible for overseeing JDEs farmer related projects under Common Grounds – our responsible sourcing program. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure into how sustainability projects focussing on improving smallholder livelihoods are set up and run across 15 different coffee origins. Your role will be focussed in the exciting area of Reporting and Monitoring & Evaluation of the 40+ projects, the data collection and analysis of which is critical to measure the progress of the different interventions of the projects and the success of JDE’s Common Grounds Programme. This internship will involve:

  • Creating a database of sustainability project reports with a dashboard to demonstrate key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics per focus area at project, country and global level.
  • Developing a dashboard to quickly review available KPIs and demonstrate progress or areas of improvement/further investment
  • Produce a “narrative/impact” dashboard of projects. Extract impactful farmer stories or achievements of projects that you can then pitch to JDE brands and the marketing community to tell a powerful story of our work with farmers.
  • Producing reports for mixed technical and non-technical stakeholders for specific requests and a final in-depth report at the end of the placement period that meets the requirements of JDE and your University studies.

Qualifications

Do you fulfil the following requirements?

  • A student in Sustainability, Agriculture, Development Economics, Data Analysis, Business, Communications or related subjects.
  • A passion for sustainability in your everyday life including farmer impact and agricultural supply chains
  • Masters level or in-depth study in one of these areas is preferable; Sustainability Reporting, project management, Agriculture, Development Economics, Data Analysis, Business, Communications or related subjects.
  • Good proficiency in MS Excel is essential, preferably some experience with statistical analysis and data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • Good communication skills are essential as you will collaborate with people in various locations within JDE and outside.
  • A “self-starter” with drive and energy, confident to work with minimal supervision.

To be successful in this role you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship and this needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum. Please note that if you are a non-EU citizen you need to be enrolled at a Dutch University to be considered as a candidate.

The monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek. We also provide additional support if daily travelling to work is required. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
