Job Description

As part of our Research, Development and Operations (RD&O) organization, the JDE R&D function is on a journey to transition into a world-class organization delivering innovation and excellence for all JDE business ambitions. In the job opportunity of R&D Packaging Sustainability Program Specialist, you will be part of the Research and Development Center Coffee and Tea and take a big responsibility in optimizing and developing packaging sustainability innovations for our products. In this category, you will work with various packaging technologies like glass, foil, flexibles, carton, tin cans, paper cups and bags. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Initiate, define, manage and drive execution of the packaging sustainability roadmap with the aim
  • to deliver JDE’s packaging sustainability ambitions
  • Scouting for new material developments, potentially relevant to sustainability topics
  • Management of several packaging projects, across multiple categories
  • Report and present findings within JDE and project teams
  • Act as single point of contact for packaging sustainability-related queries within JDE
  • Manage senior R&D stakeholders in JDE
  • Participates in industry consortiums and represents JDE’s approach to packaging sustainability
  • Liaise with regulatory affairs

For this job opening, our preferred candidate would have: 

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree, in Packaging Sciences, or a directly related field
  • Over 5 years of working experience with relevant Packaging technologies, preferably with a focus on creating sustainable solutions
  • A wide understanding of category-specific technologies, preferably in the directly related processes and production lines
  • The ability to analyze and report on trials and experiments
  • The ability to structure feedback, progression reports and proposals to senior stakeholders
  • Very good organizational and project management skills
  • The ability to analyze and report on trials and experiments
  • The ability to speak and write English on a professional level
