Job Description

As part of our Research, Development and Operations (RD&O) organization, the JDE R&D function is on a journey to transition into a world-class organization delivering innovation and excellence for all JDE business ambitions. 

The R&D Global Packaging Sustainability Technology Manager is part of the Global R&D organization, within Packaging. In this unique career opportunity, you will lead a team of 5 to 10 R&D associates and ensure the technology roadmap is set to implement JDE's global sustainability strategy. 

The tasks and responsibilities in this role: 

  • Develop a road map for technical programs to reach packaging sustainability commitments and ensure compliance with regulation
  • Create efficiency and affordability of our packaging solutions worldwide
  • Manage own resources and annual budget 
  • Manage and develop team members
  • Create cross-functional alignment and resourcing of packaging sustainability programs
  • Manage a wide group of senior in- and external stakeholders

The preferred qualifications and skills for this role: 

  • A higher professional education level in Engineering, packaging materials or packing systems
  • Over 10 years of experience in expertise area’s FMCG, packaging, packaging systems and sustainability.
  • A track record of unique achievements in packaging sustainability
  • Strong organization/project management skills
  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills to key partners (internal and external) and senior stakeholders
  • Agility to make decisions regarding project execution and priority setting
  • Ability to successfully develop and manage departmental budgets
  • Adapt to and fit into a demanding culture that expects high levels of performance
  • Deliver and communicate tangible results
  • Show flexibility in travels and work from home as required
  • Be a good listener and have the ability to work with different international cultures
