As part of our Research, Development and Operations (RD&O) organization, the JDE R&D function is on a journey to transition into a world-class organization delivering innovation and excellence for all JDE business ambitions. In the job opportunity of R&D Packaging Technology Specialist, you will be part of the Research and Development Center Coffee and Tea and take a big responsibility in optimizing and developing packaging technologies for our products. In this category, you will work with various packaging technologies like glass, foil, flexibles, carton, tin cans, paper cups and bags. 

In this role, you will: 

• Define, develop and drive business-relevant packaging technology roadmaps 
• Lead packaging technology programs and manage multiple technology projects
• Scout technology/packaging development trends and identify the area of opportunities for JDE
• Fill the technology funnel that will fuel JDE’s packaging sustainability agenda
• Identify critical external partnerships and build technical capability with external partners such as universities
• Work closely with packaging category teams to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Build and maintain technology tracker and report on progress in quarterly NT Steering Committees

For this job opening, our preferred candidate would have: 

• A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Packaging Sciences, Material Science a related field
• Strong technical skills with 10 + years of expertise in packaging technologies
• Experience in specifically injection moulding, polymer science or bio-based material 
• A strong track record of delivering technical packaging solutions to the market
• A strong track record in successful project management
• A disciplined approach to trials/testing to prove the feasibility of the technology
• The ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear and concise reports/summary 
• The ability to speak and write English on a professional level
