Job Description

Are you looking for an internship that will offer you an assignment in one of our running projects and that will challenge you with a wide ranging variety of work and opportunity? As the global Sensory & Consumer Science R&D team for JDE, our team is responsible for delivering a great variety of sensory & consumer studies, e.g. in the areas of roast & ground, cold coffee, and single serve coffee.

In your role as a Sensory & Consumer Science R&D intern, you will support the JDE sensory & consumer scientists in designing and delivering key innovations and renovations. Activities comprise:

  • Support in the set-up & briefing of sensory & consumer studies
  •  Analysing sensory & consumer studies
  • Reporting & presenting sensory & consumer studies
  • Work on a personal project to be confirmed within the first 3 months of placement based on interest and current project work

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you need to:

  • have background in Sensory and/or Consumer Science/Food Science
  • have good organisational skills (organising, reporting, etc.)
  • have good communication skills
  • be fluent in English (spoken and written)

You will be able to independently plan and execute experiments related to your project areas, as well as produce technical reports/presentations and periodically communicate key findings to stakeholders. You will be a part of one of the teams within R&D, but also have the opportunity to interact with your peers in other departments within and outside of R&D. In addition, at busy times, you may be expected to support other ongoing project activities outside of your immediate team and, for some disciplines, occasional international travel may be required.

This role is for Master students in the final phase of their studies for a 5/6 months internship at our Utrecht Research and Development Center.

To be successful in this role you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship preferably in one of the following degrees: Food Science, Sensory and/or Consumer Science. You are highly motivated, an excellent communicator, fluent in English, inquisitive, analytical and prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic international environment.

The monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, based on a full-time 40 hour workweek. The internship starts around October 2020, and is for a period of 5/6 months.
