Job Description

The Global Transactional Finance & Master Data Team is responsible for the designs, maintenance and operational execution of the global processes in the areas of Master data, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger Accounting and Travel & Expense for both internally executed (CMDM & FEC) as well as externally outsourced (IBM) activities. The team reports directly to the Global Transactional Finance & Master data Manager and is part of the Global Group Control team.

JDE’s ambition is to become a fully data-driven business, utilising data analysis in decision-making. Ensuring the quality of data and the related governance processes is where the Master Data Manager has a pivotal role in making that happen.

You will:

  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders across all business areas, to gain and sustain buy-in and support for master data initiatives
  • Periodically review and redefine the vision and approach to effective and sustainable data management and governance across JDE
  • Ensure that the operation of the CMDD master data organisation (data maintenance, continuous improvement and governance) meets the expectations of the stakeholders and the business as a whole
  • Safeguard delivery of the Master Data Management team objectives (12 FTE), by directing their activities for the achievement of goals
  • Act as a professional advisor to the governance organisation on all aspects of the organization's activities in relation to master data
  • Actively monitor compliance with agreed governance protocols and ensure standards are maintained
  • Develop and maintain a robust set of working data maintenance operating principles, procedures, systems, tools and forms to maintain the data in the relevant systems.

For this role as an Master Data Manager, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • Master Degree or equivalent working experience  / proven track record Master Data Governance
  • Significant influencing of external and internal stakeholders, often with conflicting views
  • Team set-up/expansion/leadership including vision setting, road mapping and high-quality recruitment
  • Strong communication and influencing skills – the ability to simplify complexity
  • Capability to assess problem situations, identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem
  • Ability to develop creative and innovative ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities
  • Open / approachable style.
