Job Description

The Design to Print Team is responsible for managing the artwork process from design freeze, providing input at the start of the artwork process to ensure artwork is delivered on time.. The design to print process can be triggered by new product developments, renovations, local marketing initiatives, legislation changes, supplier changes or reallocation of production. The design to print team falls within the R&D organization. 

In your role as Design to Print Specialist you will manage artwork projects from receipt of final designs from the design agency and Marketing through to printed packaging. You will provide technical input into the design phase before the design freeze (which is owned by marketing). An essential part of the role is connecting with internal and external stakeholders and coordinating with the Reprographics agency to resolve design and printing technical issues.

You will work closely with Marketing and R&D Packaging to deliver a high level of quality that complies with the brand guidelines, aligns with existing items in the market and is legally compliant resulting in high visual impact on shelf. Lead times can be challenging and timelines need to be met while managing a large network of artwork approvers. It will be key to communicate well and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders while improving speed to market.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Graphic Design, Printing or Reprographics combined with 3+ years of experience in managing artwork at a Consumer Goods company or working at a repro/print management agency or in designing packaging at a Consumer Goods/Agency. You have strong project management and organizational skills, while being able to zoom in on the details where needed. 

You have a good understanding of at least one of the packaging printing technologies (litho/gravure/flexo) and have previous experience in the design to print process, artwork and reprographics area. Ideally, you’ll have worked with artwork management tools. You’re known for your ability to manage multiple projects & prioritize tasks to deliver projects on time.
