ABOUT THE ROLE

For the customers that are dedicated to you

  • The customer development specialist is co-responsible for the development and implementation of a retail specific category plan. This in cooperation with the customer and within the defined retail strategy. 
  • You analyse the market results based on Exfactories, Nielsen, GFK and other available data to understand the drivers and barriers in the coffee category.  You translate the observations into insights and into a tailor made category strategy for these customers, in line with our JDE category and brands strategy.  This includes :
  1. Building an optimal assortment per channel/store format
  2. Introducing new products
  3. Develop a customer specific shelving vision and approach based on the JDE category vision and shopper data
  4. Translation and roll-out of a Category Promotional Calendar
  • Based on category insights, you introduce initiatives to expand the coffee category at our retail partners
  • You intensively work with the Key Account Manager:
  1. To  build the annual customer category plans
  2. To ensure the optimal implementation of these plans in cooperation with the trading partners
  3. To organize monthly follow-up meetings, quarterly  business reviews, category/shopper innovations meeting with your customer

Within the JDE commercial organization

  • The Customer Development Specialist team is responsible for the development of a JDE Category vision. This to ensure short and long term category growth and to achieve the defined targets. The category vision includes :
  1. A general long term category vision
  2. A promotional strategy
  3. A portfolio strategy, including innovations
  4. A shelving vision
  5. A pricing strategy
  • On a permanent base, you monitor the implementation of the strategy (analysis on shelf, portfolio, innovation, promotions, OPEX, …)  versus the defined targets.  You define opportunities and threats and adjust action plans to these opportunities/threats.

For this role as a Customer Development Specialist, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • You have a Master degree (or equivalent experience)
  • You have a minimum of 3 year experience as Account Manager, Shopper Manager or Brand Manager
  • You have FMCG experience
  • You have entrepreneurial spirit
  • You are result driven and willing to take responsibility
  • You possess strong analytical skills and high accuracy
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You have a natural talent in building of (long term) work relationships.
  • You are fluent in Dutch / French / English
