Job Description

The Logistics and Planning Specialist is accountable for leading and developing the local Logistics & Supply team, managing long and short-term production planning and material supply to ensure delivery of the demand plan and achievement of operational and commercial targets (KPIs), fulfilling safety norms and satisfying customers’ needs. This position works closely with commercial and operations to drive and deliver best for business decisions across the supply chain, and to deliver high levels of product availability at lowest effective cost.

 

To manage and supervise all activities with relation to Logistics & Planning.

  1. Ensure short term production planning and material supply to ensure delivery of the demand plan and achievement of operational and commercial targets. to deliver high levels of product availability at lowest effective cost.
  2. Provide agreed long-term production plans, which deliver appropriate production resources and ensure effective management and execution of short-term product availability, from translation of the capacity plan to delivery into distribution point, in order to deliver stock availability at lowest effective cost and inventory.
  3. Deliver, execute and monitor actual performance against annual operating plans, including service, quality    and accuracy levels and budget, considering short-and long-term flexibility in cost base to assure competitiveness of the local supply chain function.
  4. Maintain KPIs with the site manufacturing teams and ensure flexibility to deliver optimum product availability to meet customer service targets, stock levels and effective use of production assets. Weekly reporting on TIP, TOP, TAP, in co-operation with Manufacturing, Engineering and Demand Planning.
  5. Monitor packaging inventory level and run material resource planning on a regular basis for all materials needed (packaging, raw materials, commodities) and place orders on time, in order to avoid OOS, in close communication with all stakeholders (external vendors, Coffee & Tea sourcing, other functions in MU and MSU).
  6. Execute local logistic services and customer services to ensure customer demand is fulfilled within budget/global guidelines. Coordinate the warehouse employee’s activities and Perform Inventory stock postings. Support goods receipt and delivery in SAP (key user).
  7. Organize and coordinate local customs and tax warehouse bookings, relation with customs regarding the export to other countries.
  8. Support the site supply planning elements of commercial NPD projects, ensuring that supply requirements are built into each project to ensure delivery of launch volumes and product availability during the launch period.
  9. Creation and maintenance of all MD activities – Planning (APO master data settings, work centers, production versions, routings) and Procurement (creation and costing of new materials and vendors).

Qualifications

University degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Economics (focus in Food Industry is preferred).

Good knowledge of manufacturing, logistics and planning processes.

Manufacturing systems (SAP), good PC literacy (MS Office).

Knowledge of ISO and Safety & Environment standards and respective requirements.

Must have:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in Manufacturing environment (Production Planning and Logistics preferred, Manufacturing)
