The Chief Accountant is accountable for the financial policy development of the specific Retail Unit in statutory/local and tax accounting area.
Represents company at local tax authorities and ensures tax compliance to local tax code
Manages statutory and tax accounting in an effective and compliant way. Ensures books are compliant to local legislation.
Supervises finance related tasks being the most senior finance person locally.
Supervises accounts as per alignment with Finance Excellence centre management, participates in development of local and other countries accounting organization and supports its engagement.

Job Description

The Chief Accountant is accountable for the financial policy development of the specific Retail Unit in statutory/local and tax accounting area.
Represents company at local tax authorities and ensures tax compliance to local tax code
Manages statutory and tax accounting in an effective and compliant way. Ensures books are compliant to local legislation.
Supervises finance related tasks being the most senior finance person locally.
Supervises accounts as per alignment with Finance Excellence centre management, participates in development of local and other countries accounting organization and supports its engagement.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures statutory and tax books are prepared in accordance to the IFRS policies and local legislation
  • Participates in corporate period end closing as per schedule, leads statutory and tax period closing
  • Cooperates with Cluster Finance Excellence Centre to ensure company finance policy is on place and to ensure period end closing done with quality and as per schedule
  • Cooperates with Credit Controller to ensure Credit Policy works in accordance with Corporate Accounting Policies and procedures
  • Prepares and submits timely and effectively statutory and tax reporting
  • Prepares bridge Tax, Local vs Corporate Statements
  • Responsible for identifying and accounting of all taxes and levies imposed by any government authority
  • Supports Tax planning process in cooperation with Tax planning Manager and preparation of tax reports, incl. Deferred Tax
  • Maintains internal document flow, documentations and various systems for statutory and tax reporting purposes, cooperates with accountants and other departments to ensure the process is in place
  • Cooperates closely with FD to implement company's finance strategy locally
  • Supports corporate tools and its work, i.e., black-line, run books, etc. as per detailed tasks alignment with FD, FEC management and Cluster team
  • Consults associates of other departments through analysis of business cases, gives proposals on how to organize business cases correctly in terms of proper tax accounting
  • Works in SAP, ensures correct bookings in the system
  • Supports and coordinates on the ground corporate / statutory audit, ensures its smooth work, delivers quality of the process and timing
  • Is responsible for tax audits, ensures its smooth work, prepares in advance defence files to pass tax audit with 0 fines
  • Supports Treasury processes in cooperation with Treasury Manager/FEC Manager, ensures cost effectiveness of bank fees, is the first contact point for the partner banks
  • Acts as control performer for relevant controls
  • Ensures Internal Control policies are implemented and passed locally
  • Being the most senior finance person locally - coordinates OWC target delivery for local organization
  • Participates in Balance Sheet reviews, leads country parts
  • Participates in Finance Leadership Team work of UAEECA cluster, brings watch outs to FD and FLT, participates in calibration ratings, understand businesses in other countries of UAEECA
  • Supports any ad-hock requests from UAEECA FD, HQ, etc.

 

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic about coffee;
• University degree in finance / economics / mathematics/;
• Previous experience as Chief Accountant, FMCG company is preferable;
• Very good knowledge of tax legislation and reporting in Belarus is must
• Understanding and practical application of IFRS, awareness of legal and tax implications for company's activities ;
• Good knowledge of ERP system, SAP is must;
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills; willing to work in the team;
• Must be a self-starter and able to demonstrate initiative;
• English in advanced level;
• PC skills: MS Word, MS excel;
• Analytical skills, mathematical abilities, proven ability to meet strict deadlines, result orientation.
