Job Description

The Export Manager is responsible for all business activities within the identified export countries of the company and has a close connection with the main important distributors in the main export countries. This role reports to the Head of Exports - APAC.

The role is accountable for defining and implementing the Business Sales Strategy for selected export countries and for identifying and utilizing business opportunities within potential export countries.  The Export Manager based out of Singapore has full P&L responsibility for these export countries and aims to meet sales volume and profitability objectives. The role has a close connection with the main important distributors (and the customer service manager) in the main export countries.

Responsibilities: 

  • Designs business development strategy, product portfolio and go-to-market strategy for all identified retail export countries.
  • Is responsible for sales revenue and the P&L within the existing export countries.
  • Is responsible for identification of export opportunities within countries where the company has no presence.
  • Is responsible for execution of business development in existing export countries, through distributors.
  • Is responsible for selection of distributors; including activities as negotiating, signing and managing distributor contracts; and managing distributor relations.
  • Is accountable for defining supply chain requirements for export and operational completion through order entry and customer service. The role closely cooperates with the Customer Service Manager within Supply Chain and with the Export business.
  • Executes the overall export sales business strategy in terms of growth (sales and category), profitability and market share, as part of the company’s global growth strategy, in line with financial and non-financial performance targets as set by Management (e.g. in AOP, sales & marketing, ZBB goals, overall cost management, process efficiency of marketing & sales  and supporting functions).
  • Prepare the AOP (for final approval by Management) for the local business in alignment with the short- term strategic decisions made by the Management, such as cost savings and financial targets.
  • Ensures to streamline costs and manage cost savings and synergies within the export organization.
  • Ensure accurate reflection of state of business in the financial figures and statements that are reported to the central organization.
  • Ensures the optimum positioning of global and local brands in the export countries within the set growth and cost targets and central guidelines (e.g. central pricing strategy), in order to deliver sustainable sales growth and financial targets in the short and medium term.
  • Executes for results and continuously seeks opportunities to exceed the set sales and marketing targets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Export Management/ Business Management/ Sales & Marketing or related field.

Additional Information

Must have:

  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of international commercial business experience. 
  • Proven track record on defining and implementing the sales strategy in the best way in different countries.
  • Proven track record on driving efficient specific different distributors (sustainable & profitable business growth).
  • Solid experience in FMCG products.
  • Very open and a good understanding of managing different countries/ shows a full focus on the business profiles.
  • Proven track record in leading and motivating sales team.
  • Sound financial understanding and a record of managing a P&L.
