Commercially JDE is divided into two business units, Retail and Professional. The Retail business unit is aligned with the ‘at home’ consumption of our brands including the traditional top 4 grocers, discounters and convenience.

The focus of this role is to business partner the UK Retail Sales team and Revenue Planning team. It reports to the UK&I Retail Finance Director.

Job Description

Business Partnering Support:
The role will business partner a number of customers within the Grocery Channel. Working with the Sales team and Revenue Planning team, this role will:

Provide decision making support for commercial decisions to improve company performance – sales, profit and cash – both on a strategic – e.g., annual joint business plans – and daily basis

Attend, contribute and challenge within standard meetings – forecast reviews etc

Maintain margin model for key customers – reporting and forecasting customer margins in their own language

Ensuring results are accurately recorded and forecasted – e.g., all risks and opportunities captured in forecasts, pricing accurate, trade spend accruing accurately, promotions accruals monitored, rebates accurately paid out, sense check of COGS etc.

The role will also support activities across all customers to ensure accurate reporting such as:

Summary of Actual and Forecast performance – by brand, customer etc

Producing Management Reporting Decks (MRDs) – monthly and ad hoc

Accurate and informative Daily Sales reporting

Updating Global JDE pricing information – e/g., quarterly sales/kg for top products

Consolidating total business forecast down to net profit

Summarising total accruals and balance sheet position on trade promotions

Ad hoc analysis of issues identified in results to improve performance

Work with other finance and non-finance departments on cross-functional issues.

Qualifications

- Degree qualified preferred, Qualified accountant essential.

- Able to communicate with and influence people at all levels within and outside the organisation

- Interest in Commercial issues

- Ability to work on own initiative / Proactive

- Ability to prioritise own workload

- Good written and oral communication skills – framing complex in a simple and concise way to non-finance stakeholders

- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups)

- Experience in a similar role preferred and ideally within in FMCG
