Job Description

  • Responsible for media relations and external communications in Brazil on behalf of the business unit/s, including crisis communication and spokesperson business unit training.
  • Partner to Unit leader/s and their leadership teams on all areas of Corporate Affairs, developing sound programs that support the achievement of their strategic objectives. More specifically strong relationships with Legal, Quality, HR, HSE, Strategic Tax Planning, GCS, Sales & Marketing are expected.
  • Act as the JDE brand guardian within the given region ensuring the corporate image, reputation and story are upheld at all times including their rollout across newly acquired companies.
  • Partner with marketing teams to support brand PR activities.
  • Liaises externally with coffee industry and public affairs with related bodies.
  • Lead the prevention and resolution of relevant reputational crises within the region, working with neighbouring JDE geographies and COE functions to improve the early detection of adverse events, share learnings and minimise any potential long term impacts they may have on the company.
  • Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures inline with global guidelines to ensure the companies reputational interests, sustainability objectives and communication philosophy are upheld within the region.
  • Design and manage a local government relations program based on the global framework, which takes into account regional/ local external factors that may be present due to the size or shape of the company regional portfolio. Partner with local Sustainability Manager to deploy the equivalent communications strategy on sustainability.
  • Partner with local Sustainability Manager to secure alignment with global framework and manage regional/local external factors that may be present due to the size or shape of the company regional portfolio and local legal requirements.
  • Partner with Human Resources on Associate Experience, Associate Engagement, Change Management and Local Corporate Responsibility initiatives.
  • Develop and deploy an internal communications strategy based on the global communication principles which enhances the staff engagement and fosters a 2-way environment where best practice sharing and bottom up conversations are common practice.
  • Facilitate/ host major internal and external events in the region, coaching senior leaders to become more compelling and competent communicators using modern communications tools and techniques.
  • Manages the annual budget for external affairs and internal communications relevant to the region including the identification and management of required local suppliers.
  • Research, model and prepare for future changes within the organisation, the industry and associated technology to ensure the unit leadership team/s remain one step ahead and can achieve their goals in a dynamic and evolving market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (ideally in Business, Political, Environmental or Journalism)
  • Experience on Corporate Affairs/Corporate Communications
  • Broad understanding of FMCG sustainability issues
  • Fluent English
