Commercially JDE is divided into two business units, Retail and Professional. The professional business unit is aligned with ‘on the go’ consumption of our brands including customer such as offices, hotel groups, pubs and bars and hospitals. Professional makes up approximately 25% of the UK&I business and we have an exciting opportunity to work in our Professional business as a Field Sales Manager.

Job Description

The Field Sales Manager – Is responsible for the Regional Business development team and is accountable for generating revenue through new account acquisition and to develop partnerships with FSD (Full Service Distributors) partners aiming for sustainable growth. The role translates and locally implements the Professional sales strategy. The role is accountable for developing and executing new account and sales plans to ensure that the Professional sales volume and profitability objectives are met.

  • Exhibits a strong focus on people development within the team and consistently improves capabilities and engagement.

  • Is responsible for realizing local sales results vs. targets set by Principal/HQ for the local Professional segment

  • Coaches the team in how to respond to the specific preferences of customers and in their negotiation of commercial deals.

  • Concept selling: Leverage central guidance to sell “Full Solutions” by combining machines, ingredients, service, etc. in such a way that the concept responds to the specific requirements of the customer.

  • Using the basic/standard sales concepts. Being able to adapt them to the specific preferences of customers. Achieving concept innovation by coaching the team in creating new concepts and thinking out of the box.

  • Applies centrally defined Sales / Customer Strategy and Segmentation to local Professional markets/segments

  • Is accountable for negotiation and contracting with all local Professional FSD partners, including marketing allowances and other contractual conditions.

  • Provides input for new routes to markets like e-commerce and ensure that JDE Professional is fully aligned with all relevant customer developments in these areas Keeps up to date about customer and market trends, developments in the market and at competitors. Makes the necessary studies to adapt the sales strategy to these developments

  • Defines and monitors volumes per segment and provides forecasting information on volumes to the Supply Chain. Flags exceptions and pro-actively manages potential stock-issues with customers

  • Develop and coach team members using Sales Excellence and the BARISTA sales skills program.

Qualifications

  • Degree educated preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years commercial experience in a business-to-business environment.

  • Proven New Business sales experience

  • Proven track record in New Account acquisition and set up.

  • Proven track record in the leadership and development of a sales team

  • CRM System preferably Sales Force

  • Ability to manage a changing workload in a dynamic deadline-driven changing environment

  • Demonstrated drive, confidence and risk taking

  • Experience in working in a complex corporate structure

  • Proven ability to anticipate needs and initiate action
