Job Description

Working as the Global Tea Sourcing Assistant, you will play a key role in JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS (JDE’s) tea buying & quality strategy. Reporting to Global Tea Sourcing Manager, your role supports all aspects of bringing our great tea brands to our consumers, starting with tea buying, and continuing into tasting to determine quality. You will also develop an understanding of crop pricing, and logistics to ensure you buy in the right way & at the right time, which is in-line with pre-defined (EU) quality and food safety specifications. Working for the world’s largest pure play coffee company, you will be the champion of all things Tea!

Important responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with both external and internal stakeholders, primarily the tea factory, your internal customer where teas and botanical items are blended and packed as well as marketing (the brand owner), Research & Development (the specification owners) who will be translating consumer preferences into new tea formats, and Logistics (Inbound and outbound) for Tea category as required by JDE
  • Assisting Global Tea Sourcing Manager in daily responsibilities
  • Represent Coffee & Tea sourcing in different tea category related projects initiated with in JDE
  • Supporting the team in administrative tasks
  • Working with data and producing analyses

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we are looking for an eager person who has Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Marketing and similar. Someone who is not easily back down by repetitive tasks, good at negotiating and working in a fast-paced environment. We will provide you with extensive expert training in tea, so we just ask that you bring with you a willingness to learn and your passion to work with tea and beverages. Excellent command of English, presentation and MS Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint), with strong analytical thinking are mandatory. Prior experience with SAP is a plus.  

This position is a temporary contract starting from 15th of September, 2019 to 31st of July, 2020. Based on your performance and future circumstances, there will be opportunities for contract extension.
