  • Contract role working full time hours until June 2020  - based in Gordon 
  • Seeking perfect combo of analytical, presentation and people skills 

Due to the increasing importance of customer and consumer insights to our retail strategy, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Manager. Based in Gordon, you will play a key role in supporting the Australian Retail Sales and Marketing teams.
As Category Manager, you will be involved in identifying customer, brand and shopper insights using both scan/shopper data and shopper research. With these insights, you will help to develop the strategies and layouts designed to drive category, brand and retail customer growth.
In this challenging and varied role, you will assist with the establishment of integrated category plans, the management and presentation of effective customer category reviews (including optimal product ranging and space management recommendations) and be a key part of the development and launch of new products.
Having the ability to collect, analyse and interpret data into actionable insights and to collaborate positively within the Category team and with other department members, and to work well within various cross functional teams will be critical to your success.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and experience:

  • 18 months + experience performing successfully in a Category role (Category Analyst, Category Manager or Assistant Category Manager), ideally within FMCG 
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to collect, interpret data, identify insights and develop growth strategies with an understanding of the Australian retail landscape 
  • Space planning experience
  • Proficiency with IRI software (Scan, Shopper & WOW etc.)
  • Proficiency with Quantium (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and customer facing presentation skills 
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and learn from others
