This position is based at our Manufacturing site in Banbury. The Quality Engineer is part of the Quality team who form a key part of the wider Manufacturing function. The Manufacturing function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, green coffee beans to award winning coffee. The team covers sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and planning processes, they ensure optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale.

About the role:

The Quality Engineer role is an integral member of Banbury’s Operations team with specific focus on the key quality measures, packaging/process related quality issues, process control, quality systems, and improvement projects. Our aim is to produce great tasting products and delight our consumers daily. From Green Bean to Finished Products, the role will use excellence in quality engineering and problem solving to improve plant performance and associate engagement.

The aim of the quality engineer is to ensure and continuously improve the quality of our products end to end with regard to food legal, national/international standards, food safety and JDE requirements. You will also maintain and continuously  improve the quality management systems in our Process and Packing Departments, in accordance with JDE quality standards, to support site-wide Food Safety Culture engagement.

- Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Food Technology or relevant vocational experience

Must have:

- At least 3 years’ experience in a quality engineering role in the FMCG, Food or Process Industry.

- Good appreciation of food manufacturing environment and the quality challenges within it

- Good knowledge of the relevant ISO quality systems , QCMS, HACCP standards and food safety regulations

- Statistical Process Control and Digitization/automation of quality control tests

- Timely Decision Making

- Strong analytical and communication skills.

- Good communication and people management skills

- Good Problem-solving, continuous improvement tools, risk management skills

- A team player who can engage fully with personnel at all levels of the business.
