Job Description

The Demand Planner is the integration point into the sales and commercial organization. This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing. Demand Planners are responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. They use the analytical, marketing, and sales data of a company to effectively estimate future product demands.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product demand plans for new and existing products, to meet organization goals.
  • Managing service level for the country; Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner; escalation to the Central Supply Planner for decision-making, in case of stock shortages.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy and forecast bias; Provide support in developing seasonal demand forecasts and anticipate customers reactions to the promotions and discounts
  • Determine ABCD classification and calculate proposed safety stock settings. Safety stock settings are approved and maintained in the system by Central Planning.
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance; Maintain demand plan to ensure cost effectiveness and to meet customer demands
  • Communicate product availability (including NPDs) vs demand to Customer Service and Sales team; Identify opportunities to meet customer demands during constrained supply.
  • Monitor slow moving and potentially obsolete stocks and propose improvement actions for approval by Central Planning.
  • Identify areas of improvements and recommend action plans.
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields;
  • Minimum 3 years Supply Chain demand planning and/or forecasting experience, preferably in an FMCG company;

  • Experienced with SAP APO tool;

  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures;

  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge;

  • Highly analytical and accurate;

  • Eager to take ownership and initiative;

  • Results driven;

  • Capable of influencing others.

  • Good English & local language
