Job Description

As our new Global IT Portfolio Delivery Manager (PDM), you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all approved projects in the Global IT Portfolio. You’ll be part of the Global IT Program Management Office, and work closely with both internal and external project managers to ensure on time, within budget deliveries that adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.

You’ll select and assign project managers, monitor planning and execution, track key milestones and risks across all projects/programs (including budget consumption) and provide consolidated reporting to IT Leadership on portfolio level. You’ll  conduct regular quality reviews and actively seek for improvements in project delivery. Finally, you’ll also play a key role in continuously improving project management processes and methodologies for the IT community in collaboration with other associates.

In some detail, you’ll be

  • Spotting and solving possible conflicts between projects that run in parallel
  • Planning resources i.e. timely hiring and assigning project managers to projects
  • Providing leadership to the external project managers
  • Supporting project managers to deliver their project on time, within budget
  • Developing / further improving project management processes and methodology
  • Reviewing quality on complex, high risk projects

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, engineering or a related discipline with an information technology focus, preferably with an MBA or equivalent experience in project management

Furthermore are we looking for candidates with about 6 years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience, preferably also some experience in software development. Strong management and development skills. Demonstrated leadership of multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups. Successfully developed and implemented new work processes and/or process improvements. Experience with one or more project management methodologies (for example, PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2 and agile). Project management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of project planning tools with evidence of practical application (which is highly desirable). A distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills. Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in your direct control. Understanding of how to leverage business applications for competitive advantage. Solid understanding of the software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis/design, development of tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management.

As a person you have good verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations. Also strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, strong customer focus and strong teamwork, interpersonal skills at all management levels. Ability to operate under a dual reporting relationship (IT, customers).
