The UK represents a top 5 global market for JDE and continues to be a growth engine for the category, driving premiumisation by leading the single-serve portion with the Tassimo brand and premiumising the instant coffee segment through Kenco, L’OR and the Douwe Egberts brands.

Commercially JDE is divided into two business units, Retail and Professional. The Retail business unit is aligned with the ‘at home’ consumption of our brands including the traditional top 4 grocers, discounters and convenience. The retail unit makes up around 75% of the UK&I business. The business development manager role will sit within the value and convenience team, focussing on the wholesale and independent channel.

Job Description

The Sales Manager – Regional Business Development, Professional is responsible for the Regional Business development team and is accountable for generating revenue through new account acquisition and to develop partnerships with FSD partners aiming for sustainable growth. The role translates and locally implements the Professional sales strategy. The role is accountable for developing and executing new account and sales plans to ensure that the Professional sales volume and profitability objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Responsible for realizing local sales results vs. targets set by Principal/HQ for the local Professional segment

  • Responsible for leading the local Professional Business development team

  • Executes general pricing, promotional pricing within guidelines and pricing bandwidths, and group pricing governance.

  • Applies centrally defined Sales / Customer Strategy and Segmentation to local Professional markets/segments

  • Accountable for negotiation and contracting with all local Professional FSD partners, including marketing allowances and other contractual conditions.

  • Provides input for new routes to markets like e-commerce and ensure that JDE Professional is fully aligned with all relevant customer developments in these areas

  • Defines and monitors volumes per segment and provides forecasting information on volumes to the Supply Chain. Flags exceptions and pro-actively manages potential stock-issues with customers

  • Develop and coach team members using Sales Excellence and the BARISTA sales skills program.

  • Develop team skills in Salesforce and actively tracks and reports on KPIs within agreed timeframes.

Qualifications

  • Degree preferred

  • Strong commercial experience in a business-to-business environment.

  • Strong leadership capability with previous line management experience

  • Proven New Business sales experience

  • Proven track record in Account acquisition and set up.

  • Proven track record in the management of a sales team

  • Ability to manage a changing workload in a dynamic deadline-driven changing environment

  • Demonstrated drive, confidence and risk taking

  • Experience in working in a complex corporate structure

  • Proven ability to anticipate needs and initiate action

  • Fluent in English and clean driving licence
