Job Description

The National Account Executive (NAE) role will be office based with regular travel to customer. This role will be key to our success in 2019 and our 5 year plan for growth. We are looking for a talented individual with a passion for developing core brand and NPD growth with the retailers.  

We see this role as an excellent route to further career progression within JDE and applicants must have both the potential and desire to progress.

The National Account Executive is primarily responsible for managing and supporting the commercial delivery of the Tesco account, including forecasting internal and Tesco p&l’s, promo evaluation, developing commercial propositions and managing and tracking execution in store and online. In this role you will work closely with the National Account Manager to identify opportunities both commercially and in terms of process to drive growth both for JDE and Tesco.  In this role you will develop a deep insight into JDE’s and Tesco’s business drivers and processes, setting you up well for a next career move into Sales, Category, Commercial Finance or Revenue Management

Key responsibilities for NAE include:

  • Support forecasting process (with NAM):  Timely input and release on CRM system aligned to agreed customer trade plan.

  • Lead Customer EPOS performance tracking

  • Supports NAM in running customer performance data and Customer Margin Model tracking and insights

  • Leads account promotion evaluation process: Pre/During/Post tracking, including dissemination of information to wider team and recommendations to maximise NOS/GP for JDE.

  • Support customer account processes (aligned with NAM, Sales Analyst): Support customer input tasks such as promotion submissions, NPD/new line details, pricing checks.

  • Support account AR/invoicing process with Sales Analyst/NAM as required, linking to promotion performance understanding.

  • Lead Tesco.com tracking, execution and course correction.

  • Lead Field Sales Execution: Co-ordination, briefing, reporting and adjustment of field team resource aligned to account requirements.

  • Support customer shopper activation (with NAM/ CDM): What have we done, what has worked, best practice, other competitors/categories – work with CDM to maximise impact aligned to account priorities.

Qualifications

- Graduate level preferred but exceptional persons qualified to A-Level/GSCE considered

- PC literate, with good working knowledge of Word, E mail and the Internet.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint user

- Strong presentation & communication skills

- Good organisational skills

- Basic influencing skills

- Team player

- Excellent discipline and attention to detail

- Self motivated and self starter

- Commercially aware & numerically agile

- Potential for development to NAM / Senior NAM and cross functionally to Category Planning & Revenue Planning
