Job Description

As Marketing Manager, you will be part of the Professional Marketing team, which forms part of the wider Professional business. You will report directly to the Marketing Lead and manage a team of 3 Marketing Specialists.

The Marketing Manager leads the UK marketing strategy towards segments (ie. Hotel, Medium Business, Healthcare) & marketing activation in key ‘Out of Home’ customers (from Cash & Carry customers to National Accounts).

Your team will be responsible for the development and execution of coffee marketing plans within key segments and customers.   

Key areas of focus:

 

  1. Strategy to drive segment growth (via direct /distributors)– Identify opportunity; data & insight based; lead generation campaigns; activation at point of sale/consumption.   

  2. Best in class customer activation (via indirect RTMs) – In depot/ catalogue/ online. Through events, customer media channels, campaigns & social media. Promotion mechanic recommendations & ROI. Develop the right tools for the Sales team to communicate our plans / initiatives with their customers.

  3. Category leadership (key customers both direct & indirect) - Generate insight through continuous & non-continuous data sources; develop relationships & activate JBPs with Customer’s marketing team. Identify ‘perfect fit’ solutions to meet customer needs (direct) / planogramming & merchandising recommendations (indirect). Develop training to enhance internal & external knowledge & passion around coffee, increasing our credibility with customers.

  4. Discipline & rigor – Adherence to ‘Perfect Serve’ machine/product settings to achieve brand standards in-cup; Measurement of OPEX retail principles – right product, right place, right price/promotion; Support customer to achieve perfect representation of our brands & products (planogram/catalogue images etc)

     

You will work very closely with the Sales Team and the Category Marketers, as well as building relationships directly with our Customers. You are the voice of the customer within the Marketing team & will use your commercial acumen & customer insight to drive our plans in the right way for coffee category / customer / JDE growth.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified, CIM desirable.

  • Solid Trade or Channel marketing experience in B2B sector.

  • Demonstrated experience in defining segment marketing strategy plans

  • Strong people management skills to be able to manage a team who have diverse roles (ie. Market Intelligence & Coffee Expert)
  • Strong organizer, disciplined and influencer with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly, delivering to deadlines

  • Work as a team player as well as work autonomously, with a ‘can-do’ and ‘keep it simple’ attitude

  • Strong commercial and numerical acumen
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - with track record of building strong relationships/collaboration

  • Management of Marketing budget for segments and customers

  • Professional (out of home) experience would be an advantage, but is not essential for the role
