Job Description

Commercially JDE is divided into two business units, Retail and Professional. The professional business unit is aligned with ‘on the go’ consumption of our brands including customer such as offices, hotel groups, pubs, bars and hospitals. The professional business is an integral part of the UK&I business and this position sits within the indirect sales team in professional. The indirect sales team work closely with regional distributors to unlock new business opportunities.

The Field Sales Representative is a key strategic position within the indirect sales team and will drive new distribution points of equipment to drive volume across Liquid Roast, Roast & Ground and Soluble Coffee solutions. The Field Sales Representative will develop a strategy to compile and manage a pipeline and prospect funnel of new business opportunities as well as manage relationships with existing customers.

Experience required for a Field Sales Representative role:

  • Commercial acumen and business awareness;

  • Numerical – ability to learn and understand a P&L, pricing, promotion activity, budgets;

  • Ability and confidence to negotiate at all levels and build networks;
  • Relationship management skills;
  • Demonstrated drive, confidence and risk taking;
  • Proven experience of developing business through networking target markets and customers;

  • A strong hunter mentality with strong business acumen and a strong negotiation technique;

  • A strong influencing style with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly;

  • Must be able to work autonomously and have a self-starter mentality;

  • Must be able to drive with a full and clean driving license;

  • Selling experience an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level, ideally with a minimum of 1 year in industry.

  • Passion for excellence and building brands and customer solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills –

  • Strong organizer, disciplined and influencer with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly, delivering to deadlines

  • Work as a team player as well as work autonomously, with a ‘can-do’ and ‘keep it simple’ attitude

  • Strong IT, analytical and numerical skills, particularly in MS Office suite and Excel
