Job Description

As our new Global Buyer Raw Materials & Cross-Selling, you will be  part of our Global Raw Materials & Cross-Selling Category team. We are part of the Procurement organization and you will report  to the Category Manager.  Cross-selling is a part of the JDE Professional business which includes a diverse portfolio of food and non-food items that strengthen the JDE brands (i.e. branded cups, sugar sticks, etc.) within the B2B environment.  Raw materials buying supports the JDE Retail brands. 

In this vital role, you identify and lead cross-functional projects using a strong functional application of procurement tools, strategy development and stakeholder alignment. You’ll lead all cross-selling activities and take ownership of part of the raw material category. You deliver against cost and cash targets, while also be looking to drive innovation through our current and new suppliers within our business strategy.  Sustainability will continue to play an increasing role in our portfolio you will drive that change through the portfolio.

The role is based in Utrecht, NL but may require occasional travel.

Some key activities. You:

  • Are the key point of contact for your portfolio, ensuring active engagement with global stakeholders for all procurement activities and end-to-end ownership through to JDE manufacturing sites (quality, on-time, in-full deliveries) for raw material and cross selling categories.
  • Initiate, define, manage and execute strategic sourcing projects with the aim to deliver opportunities that are essential for achieving productivity targets or new product development.
  • Lead and support critical negotiations by fact-based preparation to deliver optimized cost and value for JDE
  • Identify new and develop existing supplier partnerships to drive wholistic value proposition for JDE’s pipeline (innovation, exclusivity or total cost reduction)

Qualifications

To be successful in this challenging role, you need to bring strong interpersonal skills and networking ability, to drive and impact change across the organization. You have a Masters’ degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Engineering and have more than 7 years of working in FMCG (with ideally 5 years in procurement, within direct material sourcing).

Furthermore, you have

  • An insightful approach: strong analytical skills, attention to details and ability to translate data into insights that can shape the business
  • Negotiation & contracting experience excellent preparation, fact-based, closing out through contracting
  • Clear Communications skills: ability to communicate (in English) across all levels within organization (stakeholders, peers, and implementers) and drive simplicity within complex or unclear situations
  • A drive for results: willingness to work hard to deliver results which make an impact
