Job Description

In this role will be responsible for a platform within a category and developing the platform and brand strategy that is linked to the overall strategy of the company. You will set the category budget and target achievement. You will report to the Global Category Leader Single Serve and have several direct reports.

In your role you will focus on the development and execution of Marketing strategies to build equity and drive growth across the entire portfolio of coffee & tea brands.

You are accountable for  the assortment and the appliance business model as well as effective brand positioning, enhancing best practices and defining the communication strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the vision and strategy for the specific platform (including platform strategy and brand strategy), and set and evaluate corresponding category targets.
  • Lead and define platform positioning, brand meaning & visual identity, including packaging design guidelines and web guidelines. As well as responsibility for the assortment.
  • Develop innovation ideas (such as innovation strategy and ambition for platform and brand) and requirements for the platform, and provide input, or participate and be a key contributor in Innovation decision making (Innovation Meeting).
  • Responsible for enhancing best practices of lead countries by leading discussions, being the decision-maker, and lead, direct, evaluate and enable global roll-out of these best practices.
  • Provide input to the Category Leader to define and maintain pricing architecture and pricing and promotion guidelines for the category, in coordination with Global Sales.
  • Define communication and media strategy, and setting MAP investment guidelines for the specific platform. Responsible for the allocation and guidelines of category A&P budget across geographies, and initiatives.
  • Responsible for budget setting with regard to the platform and providing input to the Category Leader in regards the AOP.
  •  Accountable for meeting the targets of the specific platform.
  •  Exemplifie the attitude to be the best in class coffee company for the respective brands.
  • For non-principal countries the Global Category & Brands Leader has the same responsibilities except that the role only provides guidelines on pricing (not bandwidths) and provides limited guidelines for local brand development.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Master’s degree, preferably in Marketing. You will have 10+ years of professional expertise in an international Marketing roles. If you have experience with managing partnerships that would be a huge bonus.

  • Successful experience as a marketer of products which are emotionally important for the end customers. Marketing expertise is essential in all its dimensions, strategic and operational.
  • Proven track record of initiating and driving change successfully in previous functions.
  • Managed a category in a FMCG company, and have a solid experience in food products and category management.
  • Successful executive experience in a company focused on growth.
