Job Description

As our new Global IT Network Architet you are the Subject Matter Expert on Network environments and will spend the majority of your time managing the service provider(s) and internal stakeholders with regards to Network Services.

You will be part of our Global Information Services (GIS) Department  based in Utrecht and responsible for IT in JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS Globally. We partner with the business and provide enhanced Information Services. Besides ensuring the continuity of delivering the required IT-services, GIS will deliver Global Information Management Services to all our Operating Companies.

As key responsibilities, you

  • Support and advice the Global IT Network Manager on operational strategy and in developing standards and policies for network services.
  • Ensure that  external suppliers provide high quality Network services and that SLA’s are being properly managed
  • monitor operational risks for network services on factors such as Complexity, Vendor Supportability, SW version, Dependency on specific SME’s, Scalability and Technical Health.
  • Define, align and implement mitigating actions to reduce operational risk

Furthermore, you’ll ensure smooth transitions of network changes from project to run phase. You’ll provide input on network services operational readiness and validate that new or changed network services satisfy all criteria and are supplied ready for live deployment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience and certifications), preferably in a quantitative, Computer Science or Network related discipline over 3 years of experience in Network Operations.

Knowledge of IT frameworks like ITIL and Network technologies is required,  as well as a proven track record in continuous improvement in the area of Network services. Multi-discipline knowledge and experience with various network technologies (incl. WAN, LAN, VPN, WiFi, MPLS, data transfer and network security) is essential for this role. Experience with Cisco, Checkpoint & F5 solutions is considered advantageous, as will industry experience with a global and / or food & consumer packaged goods company.
