Job Description

Business context of the role:

At Jacobs Douwe Egberts we’re inspired by our belief that it’s amazing what can happen over a cup of coffee. Here in the UK & Ireland we are known for leading coffee brands including Kenco, L’Or and Tassimo. With associates spread across 3 locations in Hurley (nr Maidenhead), Banbury and Dublin.

This position is based at our Manufacturing site in Banbury. The Process Engineer is part of the Process team who form a key part of the wider Manufacturing function. The Manufacturing function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, green coffee beans to award winning coffee. The team covers sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and planning processes, they ensure optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale.

 About the role:

The Process Engineer will support the ongoing process engineering of the coffee manufacturing process at the Banbury plant. Including finding & fixing defaults, improving process capability through good manufacturing design principles and managing various capital projects. The roles requires a high level (70% of technical knowledge) for the process and working principles as well as building and maintaining excellent relationships with operational teams.

·         To reduce Process Variability

·         Technical knowledge of the process and working principles

·         Improve Process Capability (CPK &CPM)

·         MOS Principles & Pillar Process

·         Early equipment management principles

·         Good Manufacturing design principles

·         Capital project management

·         Process Innovation

Education

- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

- Degree level education in Chemical Engineering or Technical Degree

Must have:

  • Six Sigma – Green Belt

    Failure Analysis (F.M.E.A, FT.A)

    Value engineering (DFM)
