At Jacobs Douwe Egberts we’re inspired by our belief that it’s amazing what can happen over a cup of coffee. Here in the UK & Ireland we are known for leading coffee brands including Kenco, L’Or and Tassimo. With associates spread across 3 locations in Hurley (nr Maidenhead), Banbury and Dublin.

This position is based at our Manufacturing site in Banbury. The position is part of the Maintenance team who form a key part of the wider Manufacturing function. The Manufacturing function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, green coffee beans to award winning coffee. The team covers sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and planning processes, they ensure optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale.

 About the role:

The position is an essential part of a new Maintenance organisation and is required to ensure the smooth running of the ammonia plant.

Key responsibilities of the role:  

• Ensure that the Freeze-Dried ammonia plant and equipment using ammonia are at peak availability and efficiency.
• Develop, manage, champion and train out associated ammonia training packages across the shift and day teams.
• Develop, manage and champion ammonia safe systems of work including short, medium and long-term maintenance programmes.
• Contribute to our Continuous Improvement Programme.
• Ensure that Coffee production is at the required quality and quantity.

• Carry out all the necessary repairs and maintenance to the ammonia plant and equipment.
• Support maintenance activities in other areas as required.
• Assist as required in the manufacturing process with the shift teams.

Essential Qualifications

• Technician with HNC or equivalent qualifications
• Ammonia safe handling (city and guilds)           

Experience

• Experience of an ammonia plant and procedures
• Good knowledge of screw compressor operation. (Sabroe,Howden)
• Good working knowledge of computers and associated operating systems
• Systematic and logical approach to fault finding and problem solving
• Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation, initiative and commitment
• Energetic, persistent and pragmatic
• You will need to be self-motivated and self-managed & determined.
• Have a flexible attitude and approach to the role.
• Be an active team player.
• Be prepared to support training and PM’s involving an element of shift work
• Have a good knowledge of Sabroe refrigeration control centres.
• Have a basic understanding of electrical control systems.
