Job Description
Who we are looking for:
- The eligible candidate must be between the age of 15 and 30 years old.
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the immigration Refugee Protection Act.
- The eligible candidate will work for 8 weeks, 35 hours per week from June 1st, 2026.
- The wage is $17.60 per hour.
The candidate will report into the Executive Director.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Post-secondary student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Media, Public Relations, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) in a professional, academic, or volunteer capacity
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate content
- Comfortable creating basic visual content using tools such as Canva or similar design platforms
- Experience or interest in photography and videography for social media and event coverage
- Strong interpersonal and community engagement skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse audiences
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and content schedules
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to analyze engagement metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Comfortable conducting outreach both online and in-person, including attending events and representing the organization
- Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp) and website content management systems is an asset
- Interest in community-based work, women’s initiatives, newcomer support, or nonprofit programming is strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Farsi
Additional Information
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across IWOO’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, website)
- Monitor accounts, respond to messages, comments, and inquiries, and engage with followers
- Assist in developing social media campaigns to promote programs, workshops, and community events
- Capture photos and videos at events for marketing purposes
- Assist in writing promotional materials including newsletters, email campaigns, event announcements, and website updates
- Support the development of graphics, posters, and promotional assets using Canva or similar tools
- Promote IWOO programs to community members, partner organizations, youth groups, and newcomers
- Help recruit participants for programs through digital outreach, flyer distribution, and community networks
- Represent IWOO at outreach booths and events when required
- Conduct research on marketing trends, target audiences, and community engagement strategies
- Provide recommendations to improve outreach and engagement
- Collect participant feedback for marketing and program evaluation purposes
