Job Description

  • The eligible candidate must be between the age of 15 and 30 years old.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the immigration Refugee Protection Act.
  • The eligible candidate will work for 8 weeks, 35 hours per week from May 15th, 2025.
  • The wage is $17.20 per hour.

The candidate will report into the Executive Director. The Administrator Assistant helps in the coordination and execution of events including meetings, regular IWOO programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update IWOO’s client data records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist in organizing and supporting events, meetings, and regular IWOO programming
  • Provide online and in-person support for workshops, including preparation, coordination, and reporting
  •  Respond to emails, phone calls, and client inquiries in a prompt and professional manner
  • Greet and assist walk-in and phone-in clients by providing information about IWOO’s services and scheduling appointments
  • Support outreach efforts, including social media engagement and community interaction
  • Create and design informational materials such as brochures, flyers, and other communication documents
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and deadlines efficiently

Qualifications

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other digital tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Farsi
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and the Board
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and solution-oriented
  • Availability for occasional weekend or evening work
